Fixed footerStick
Posted on: 08.29.2005
Finally, someone fixed my footerStick CSS trick!!!
What footerStick Does:
It is supposed to force your website’s footer content to the bottom of the viewport on modern browsers. If the content of your page is really short, the CSS will stretch your content area’s height and make the footer “stick” to the bottom of the page. If the content is longer than the viewport and you need to scroll, the CSS essentionally does nothing.
The Problem With My Version:
The big issue with my technique is that it doesn’t work well in Mozilla when images appear in the content area and they do not have height attributes set. The footer will appear out of position on the first view of the page. After the images have been cached the page works fine. This, obviously is not acceptable.
The Fix:
The brilliant CSS from The Man in Blue has now remedied the problem. Awesome!
