IE 7 beta 2 Suckage

Thanks to Micro$h!t I just spent half the morning trying to figure out why IE 6 stopped working. What I mean by stop working is that I could start it up but when I would use a bookmark(favorite) or press the home icon, Firefox would launch and try to open the page.
Sadly, I need to use IE 6 for a some custom internal apps for work. There’s no way around it, I HAVE to use IE 6.
So why did this happen?
Well, I decided to try out the new IE 7 beta 2 yesterday. But, instead of installing it over my IE 6, I decided to try out the hacks Microsoft recommended modifications for making it run along side IE 6. I made the simple hacks Microsoft recommended modifications and everything seemed to work fine, until this morning that is. I have no idea why everything worked great yesterday and today it decided to crap out. I didn’t shut down my system or restart… I leave my machine on all the time.
How did I fix it?
I found an article that was talking about a registry entry:
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {C90250F3-4D7D-4991-9B69-A5C5BC1C2AE6}]
So, I deleted the entry and everything was back to normal (only after I reinstalled SP2 and messed around in the registry for 3 hours). I guess I won’t be using IE 7 beta 2 anymore.
It’s this kind of crap that really makes me think OSX might be the way to go.
